Gators Divers Earn CSCAA Scholar All-America Recognition
Jacksonville, Florida resident Emma Whitner is pursuing a bachelor of science in finance at the University of Florida, where she competes on the school’s diving team. Recently, Emma Whitner joined 23 of her teammates to earn a spot on the College Swimming and Diving Coaches of America Association (CSCAA) Scholar All-America list for the 2019–20 season.
The CSCAA Scholar All-America list recognizes students who have demonstrated exceptional achievement in the areas of athletics and academics. Qualifying students have earned a minimum GPA of 3.50 and have either been invited to compete in the NCAA Championships, have competed in a qualification meet, or have achieved an individual B-cut time during the season. With 24 students named to the list, this is the university’s Florida’s highest number of selections in a single season. In 2019 it had 17.
During their regular 2019–20 season, the Gators held a dual meet record of 8–1, their best since 2007–08. The team concluded the season with a runner-up finish at the SEC Championships.
